Belgium Blue is a limestone originally from Belgium, also known as Petit Granit-Pierre Bleue and is extracted from the Soignies region. Formed about 350 million years ago in the marine environment, we can find colonies of living organisms, called crinoids, developed in large quantities.
Over the time, the sediments that were accumulated on the seabed in small horizontal layers were compressing the limestone mud and originated an extremely hard and resistant rock. It can be used in the most varied applications, from ventilated facades to exterior pavements to coverings, steps, streets and roads.
